WELCOME
TO MRC
MRC's
fundamental mission is to reduce subjectivity in motor claims estimation.
The consciousness of a need to ensure that automobiles damaged in
a collision are repaired using the right methodology, and safely
put back on the road, will continue to be MRC's paramount social
responsibility.
Introduction
Motordata Research Consortium Sdn Bhd (MRC) was appointed by The
General Insurance Association of Malaysia (Persatuan Insuran Am
Malaysia - PIAM) to fulfill the idea mooted by The Central Bank

About
Us
MRC was formed on 1st November 1998 to undertake this project to
build such a database which will provide standards, and reduce subjectivity
in claims estimations and assessments.
Shareholders
of MRC are HeiTech Padu Berhad and MNRB Holdings Berhad (formerly known as Malaysian National Reinsurance Berhad
(MNRB) which are both public listed companies on the first board
of the Malaysian Stock Exchange.
GOVERNMENT
AND INSURANCE INDUSTRY SUPPORT
A Claims Processing Centre (CPC) managed by MRC, records all claims
processed amongst all users of the Database through which statistical
data is collected for BNM and PIAM for analysis and management purposes.
Some of the added benefits of the CPC are its ability to monitor
and track fraudulent claims, as well as recording claims history
on automobiles and their owner/drivers. Currently the MRC Database
has parts and prices of over 411 automobile derivatives from 17
manufacturers, which covered more than 83% of private automobiles
on Malaysian roads today. Composite and Generic repair times are
also available to provide standards and guidelines to repairers,
loss adjusters, insurers, and automobile owners to enable them to
confidently know when a damaged car can be repaired and put back
on the road. The success and implementation of this national initiative
will benefit all other industries and individuals associated with
motor insurance claims, and instil greater professionalism, transparency,
and consistency in motor insurance claims servicing
